Meet the Doctor

Dr. Mentz

During my time in dental school, I enjoyed working with children and being able to help create a positive first experience for the young child. I completed a two-year residency at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin/Marquette University in order to better provide this opportunity. Afterwards, I was asked to stay on where I practiced pediatric dentistry and began teaching to the pediatric dental residents. After approximately 2½ years, I joined a large private pediatric dental practice in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

I found it very rewarding to be able to help a child improve their self confidence by helping them have a good first experience, whether it was getting their teeth cleaned or having a cavity restored. I also had the opportunity to work with an orthodontist, which intensified my desire to provide additional ways to positively influence a person's facial appearance and their self confidence.

After practicing in Brookfield, I returned to school and completed another two-year residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Toronto. It was during this time that I realized a lot of adults were also concerned about their smile and were desiring orthodontic treatment. I then moved to Neenah and for the past 18 years I have been treating the orthodontic needs of both children and adults. I continue to take numerous continuing education courses in order to maintain the highest possible level of orthodontic care as well as respecting each of my patients individual needs.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia but have lived in Wisconsin for over 25 years, spending the last 17 years in Neenah with my wife where we raised our two children. During my free time, I enjoy watching and participating in cycling, fishing, traveling, reading, and attempting to be a handyman around the house. I am a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neenah and presently teach one of the confirmation classes.
